WHAT IS CONTINUOUS COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION?

Continuous and Comprehensive evaluation refers to a system of school based
assessment that covers all aspects of student’s development.
It emphasizes two fold objectives.

  • Continuity in evaluation and assessment of broad based learning.
  • Behavioral out come.

CONTINUOUS AND COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION : (CCE)

The evaluation of Academic Subjects from grade I to VIII is by CCE

Six assessments are proposed:Scholastic Part (A) Evaluation of Scholastic aspect:

Type of Assessment Percentage of Weightage in an academic session Month Term wise Weightage

FIRST TERM

Formative Assessment -1 10% June – July FA : 1 = 10%
Formative Assessment -2 10% August- September FA : 2 = 10%
Summative Assessment -1 30% October SA1 : 30%

SECOND TERM

Formative Assessment – 3 10% November-December FA : 3 = 10%
Formative Assessment – 4 10% January – February FA : 4 = 10%
Summative Assessment -2 30% March SA2 : = 30%

Total Formative Assessments = FA-1 + FA–2 + FA-3 + FA-4 = 40%

Summative Assessments = SA-1 + SA-2 = 60%
